Eli Brooks on the cusp of a high-level recruitment
While there was plenty to see at the shoe company run events this past weekend throughout the nation, Eli Brooks was displaying his immense value nearby at the Elevate Hoops Spring Showdown event in Staten Island, New York.
A 6-foot-1 lead guard with a great feel and pace to his game, along with deceptive explosiveness at the basket, there is a lot to like about the Jersey Shore Warriors star. He runs his team in the backcourt as he rarely ever turns it over, yet also isn’t afraid to take chances in driving to the basket in either scoring at the lid or in drawing the defense and distributing to the open teammate.
Born at Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina, the junior guard moved at a young age to the York, Pennsylvania region and has settled into a quality recruitment. Things are beginning to pick up for Brooks has he currently holds 12 offers, his latest coming from the first high-major program to distribute an offer to him in the Big 12’s Kansas State Wildcats program.
The Spring Grove High product carries other offers from such programs as La Salle, Penn, George Mason, Drexel, Bucknell, and Lehigh, but when broached on who might be an early leader, or at least the program that he is hearing from the most often, Brooks stated that Lafayette had been doing the best job with him thus far.
Whether it is defending the basketball, making shots from all three levels on the floor, or running his team like savvy vet, Brooks brings a lot to the table, but is also no slouch in the classroom. “Academics are big to me,” the Jersey Shore Warriors point man said. “I want to major in sports marketing in college.”
Due to his demographics and geographical landscape, expect for the majority of the higher level academics programs throughout the northeast to hastily pursue Brooks as he continues to display immense value as a productive floor general this spring and summer.
