Team Heat Elite earns 14U Super Regional title

Lucas Jenkins and Quincy Smith each scored 10 points to help Team Heat Elite beat Team Rival in a terrific championship game at the HoopSeen Super Regional.

That kind of balance embodied the weekend of work for the North Carolina squad at the Super Regional. Team Heat Elite seemed to always have a different weapon when it mattered en route to a championship.

Luke Stankavage, the 14U tournament MVP, scored six points and was the catalyst in the backcourt all weekend long.

Team Rival was not an easy out though. The Cobb County, Georgia based team mixed size inside with Darius Gaddy, an all-tournament selection, and slashing guards to cause match-up problems for the field.

Braylen Howard, Perry Robinson and Javan Smalls were all threats from deep in the title game for Team Rival.

Both teams will be back for the Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions on May 13-15.
