Frankie Hughes is again back off of the board after making a commitment to the Missouri Tigers men’s basketball program. Teammates on the high school circuit for four years now, Hughes and Garfield Heights forward Willie Jackson will remain a duo during their collegiate playing days within the SEC.

A 6-foot-4 slashing guard with a stroke that can catch on fire at any second, Hughes gave his verbal commitment to Kim Anderson and his staff on Saturday. "It is family environment," the Garfield Heights product said. "What I have at my high school is the same thing that we have here."

Taking his first official visit this spring to the SEC bunch, Hughes was formerly committed to Louisville. After parting ways, Ohio State, LSU, and Wisconsin, along with several others, reached out to the Ohio native within the past few weeks.

Hughes brings instant credibility in the scoring department. While he has yet to round out his long and wiry physique, the confident scorer of the basketball should be able to leave a mark early on during his time in Columbia due to his toughness and the immediate opportunity to step in and produce. He competes on both sides of the basketball, has the length and quickness to guard all three spots on the perimeter, and has a nice competitive side to him that should bode well within the SEC.

The fourth commitment within the 2016 class for the Missouri Tigers, assistant coach Rob Fulford struck again in the Buckeye State, just as he and the staff did a few months ago with Willie Jackson. "I have been with him since the fourth grade,"  Hughes said about his high school teammarte. "He is like my brother." Joining the duo is high upside big men Mitchell Smith and Reed Nikko, both of whom bring a solid basketball ceiling and mobility to the frontcourt.

While the rebuild continues in Columbia, all four bring something to the table where each should be able to contribute quite frequently during their underclassmen years.
