High majors are tracking Peyton Broughton
2017 London (KY) North Laurel wing Peyton Broughton is one of the top prospects in Kentucky, and he showed exactly why over the weekend at the Norman Parker Showcase. The talented wing man put together some solid performances for Team Manimal over the course of the event.
Broughton, a 6-foot-5 wing that can shoot from the perimeter or put the ball on the floor and attack the rim, kept opposing defenses on their toes. Since last summer, the junior has added some strength and weight to his frame. It showed with his ability to attack the basket.
Several mid-major programs have already extended scholarship offers to Broughton, but a couple of high-major programs are keeping close tabs on him. Several more offers could come in the next few weeks.
“I have offers from Western Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky, Clemson, UAB, Wright State, Miami (OH), Southeast Missouri State, Tennessee Tech, Samford, Lehigh, and Toledo,” Broughton told HoopSeen.com. “Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Stanford, and South Alabama are showing interest.”
Prior to the high school season starting in the fall, Broughton took the opportunity to make a couple of unofficial visits. He visited Clemson and UAB unofficially, and both remain high on his list.
Playing on the Adidas Gauntlet circuit with Team Manimal, expect Broughton to add more offers and become a priority recruit for mid-major plus and high-major programs.
