#BOTS Spotlight: Justin Gray, Florida Select
Any time Florida Select played, coaches sat on the baseline and thumbed through the tri-color packet to find the team's roster. With index fingers firmly pressed on the pages, they scanned the roster to see who number 23 is.
Justin Gray was that guy and he left coaches wanting more. The long-armed 6-foot-4 guard from Berkley Prep (Tampa, Florida) was all over the court. Long and athletic, he was good on the glass as a rebounder, strong on the defensive end and slashed to the rim time and time again.
There was a buzz going down coach's row on the Sunshine State player. As a 3.8 GPA student, there's even more buzz.
Not surprisingly, his recruitment has a high academic flavor to it. With Stanford, Georgia Tech, Texas Tech (offer), Virginia, Harvard (offer) and Butler in tow, Gray said he's looking for a program that suits him on and off the court.
"Academics is a big part of my life and I want to go to a school that has good academics," Gray said. "There are a lot of schools that have great academic programs so I want to find a school that I can fit in with and has a great basketball program. Great academics is going play a part, too."
Gray said he would like to schedule an official visit to Texas Tech, Stanford and Harvard. Tommy Amaker was at Suwanee Sports Academy to see Gray play this week.
