Kellan Grady hints at a top three
One of the more highly skilled guards within the junior class continues to solidify his case as one of the best that there is throughout the nation. Standing at 6-foot-4 and with great length, feel, and play making skills, Kellan Grady has used his new home at Northfield Mount Hermon as a launching pad for not just his overall game, but also his college recruitment.
Playing sporadically on and off the basketball entering his junior campaign at NMH this past fall, head coach John Carroll gave the Massachusetts native the rock from the get-go, allowing Grady to be the floor general straight out of the gates for the absurdly talented and deep prep bunch. While it took a few games into the season for the silky smooth guard to throw up consistent numbers but now rounding into form, it would seem that there aren’t many as polished in the backcourt as Grady.
Capable of making a number of long-distance jumpers in any given contest, scoring in the lane on either handed runners, along with directing his team in the backcourt and not getting sped up by ball pressure, there is a lot to like about the improving junior. Showing off a Steph Curry-like physique, game, and feel for the game, it isn’t too surprising that the NBA MVP’s alma mater is a leader for the NMH guard.
“Davidson, Butler, and Villanova are on me the hardest right now,” Grady said about his current recruitment. After visiting Davidson back in the fall, which has been his only visit thus far, there is a pending visit that could take place in the coming weeks. “I would like to take a visit to Butler in the spring time after the season is over with.”
After bringing in an offer from Northwestern last night, Grady seems intrigued by the highest level of play concocted with the highest level of academics. Regardless, look for many more programs to thoroughly pursue the productive and skilled guard this summer as he runs with the New England Playaz bunch.
