Oshae Brissett prepares for first official visit
One of the higher upside and versatile forwards from within the junior class is set to take his first official visit this weekend. Oshae Brissett, a 6-foot-8 forward who suits up with loaded Findlay Prep program, will take advantage of the new rules in place that allow for juniors to take official visits after upon the turn of the calendar year. Headed to the University of Southern California on Friday, HoopSeen was able to catch up with the native of Canada.
A relatively well-known name for some time now, Brissett boasts a cupboard full of offers, though it is USC that will get the first shot at hosting the Findlay Prep star for 48 hours beginning on Friday evening. With the appropriate system in place, the staff in Los Angeles has done a great job with things in making it an appealing situation for him. “The way they play, fast-paced and up and down,” the junior forward said about the fit. “A lot of guys that come through there are versatile like me.”
While such others like Utah, Florida, Washington State, and UNLV remain heavily entrenched in luring Brissett to its own campus, it is another Pac 12 program that could receive an official visit from him. “I am thinking about taking one to Oregon, too,” Brissett said about the next trip that he may take within the coming weeks.
There is an option on the table for Brissett to reclass into the 2016 class and head off to college next fall. While he remains on the fence about the jump up, he does have a solid feel for what he is looking for at his next landing spot. “I just want the right fit, a place where I can develop well and the coaches that believe in me,” Brissett said.
A versatile, face-up power forward who can take his man off the bounce, rebound the ball within traffic, yet also defend various spots on the other end, the Trojans and Ducks seem to be in the best spot with the Canadian who may take his talents to a college campus in the coming months.
