Class AAAA

No. 2 Grady 76, Arabia Mountain 48: DJ Brittian led all scorers with 17 points and tacked on three assists and three steals. Future Bucknell Bison Avi Toomer finished with 16 points, 10 rebounds and four steals. Kemari Averett had 10 points, six rebounds, three steals and a block. Javier Russell added 13 points, five assists and three steals of his own.

No. 3 Lithonia 58, Columbia 42: Lithonia pounded away at Columbia for a 16-point victory. Tyheem Freeman had 17 points and five rebounds. Tylon Patterson added 12 points and eight boards.

No. 4 Liberty County 45, Richmond Hill 41: The Panthers survived an upset-minded Richmond Hill team thanks to Richard LeCounte’s game-high 18 points.

No. 5 St. Pius 61, Chamblee 48: The Golden Lions took care of Chamblee on the road behind Kerney Lane’s 26 points. Jakob Spitzer recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Will Dean led Chamblee with 14.

No. 7 Walnut Grove 63, Eastside 55: AJ Jones scored 21 points and Jatahj Malcom added 12 to move the Warriors to 17-1 overall. Isaiah Miller poured in 34 points -- 17 in the fourth – for Eastside.

No. 8 Sandy Creek 61, Carrollton 59: The Patriots eked out a close one against the defending 4A state runner-up Carrollton Trojans. Gardner-Webb signee Christian Turner scored a team-high 19 points and added 10 rebounds and six assists. Elias Harden chipped in 16 points and Keith Heard finished with 10 points and three blocks.

Bainbridge 82, 2ANo. 1 Seminole County 69: Tyree Crump and Bainbridge got the best of Seminole County as Jordan Harris and Anfernee King both fouled out. Harris had 23 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, four steals and two blocks while King chipped in 21 points, nine assists, six rebounds, four steals and one block. Justin Washington finished with six points and six rebounds.

Locust Grove 81, Henry County 78: Javon Greene (28), Dominque Joseph (16) and Damion Rosser (16) combined for 60 points, but it was no match for Brandon Thomas. The sophomore exploded for 39 points and received 26 points from running mate Brandon Sterling.

Pickens 55, LaFayette 46: Joseph Gossett scored 18 points and Trent Rizoti posted a 15-point 10-rebound double-double for the Dragons.

Cartersville 83, Ridgeland 43: The Canes blasted Ridgeland and saw four players score in double digits. Travon Davis finished with a team-high 14 while Jaylon Pugh (13), Courtney Cooley (12) and TJ Horton (10) all got in on the action.

White County 76, North Oconee 65: Whit Mauney dropped 19 points and John Ward tossed in 17 to lead the Warriors. Desmon Mataro and Bradley Hurst added 14 and 10 points respectively as all four leading scorers played only three quarters.

Heritage-Catoosa 60, Southeast Whitfield 56: The Raiders fell to 5-12 overall on the year. Ty Pendley poured in 28 points and added on three assists and three rebounds in the loss.

Woodward Academy 64, Fayette County 61: The War Eagles protected home court thanks to Julian Cameron and Hunter Falconer’s efforts. Cameron finished with team-highs of 18 points and eight rebounds while Falconer added 16 points, three assists and four steals. Jake Nestlehutt netted 14 points in the win.

Class AAA

No. 4 Calhoun 72, Murray County 24: The Yellow Jackets remained the only undefeated team in AAA with a blowout of the Indians. Kaelan Riley had 19 points and nine rebounds. Chapin Rierson pitched in 11 points and five rebounds.                                                  

No. 6 Central-Macon 75, Westside-Macon 72: The Chargers outlasted the Seminoles in a Middle Georgia classic. Juniors Kentravious Jones and Anterious McCoy netted 24 and 21 points respectively to power the Chargers. Derrick Evans Jr. scored 14 in the win. In the loss, Khavon Moore torched Central-Macon with 27 points and 13 rebounds.

 

Jackson County 49, Oconee County 47: The Panthers rallied for a region win behind Christian Smith’s 21 points.

East Jackson 81, Jefferson 58: The Eagles picked up another region victory behind Drue Drinnon’s 26 points, who surpassed the 1,000-point barrier on his career. Jalen Morgan scored 20 and Travis Anderson chipped in 19 in the balanced attack. Colby Wood paced Jefferson with 16.

Blessed Trinity 47, Cedar Grove 45: For the second Tuesday in a row, the Titans used a last second three to snatch a victory. This time it was birthday boy Jackson Svete hitting a dagger to seal the Saints’ fate.  CJ Abrams was the lone Titan to score double figures with 12. Jelani Woods scored 16 points to lead Cedar Grove. Makale Carter added 14 in the last-second loss.

East Hall 80, Franklin County 53: Tylor Brown scored 16 points for Coach Joe Dix’s Vikings. Andy Lara pitched in 13 points and Markese Jackson finished with 11.

West Hall 68, Dawson County 59: Esteban Ulloa netted 20 points to lead the Spartan attack. Tyquan Statham added 17, Bryson Jones 14 and Noah Edmondson 13 in the win.

 

North Clayton 82, Decatur 72: Jamarcus Sanders poured in 28 points and Ahsan Asadullah added 27 in the Eagles win.
