Lance Thomas continues improvement
Norcross forward Lance Thomas is about as unique of a prospect as we have in Georgia’s 2017 class.
Thomas has a lot of size at the forward position at a very long 6-foot-9 and has a lot of perimeter skills with the ability to shoot the three and put in on the floor.
That’s an area of the game that Thomas is looking to improve his game, and it is showing in his improved skillset.
“I’ve been working on my skills on the wing. At my size, not a lot of guys can guard me out there so I feel like that’s where I can have an advantage,” Thomas told HoopSeen.
However, one area where Thomas is really showing his worth is with his toughness and ability to defend the basket. In a win over rival Duluth, Thomas reached double figures in both rebounds and blocks, more than holding his own in a very physical game.
“Coach Mac (Jesse McMillan) has us in the weight room, and we know that at this level if we want to win, we have to be strong and play physical,” said Thomas.
Norcross is again a contender for a state title in Georgia’s highest classification, and if they are going to have success in the state playoffs, surely Lance Thomas will be a vital piece for them.
Thomas currently holds offers from Texas Tech, Clemson, VCU, Richmond, and Middle Tennessee State, Western Kentucky, and College of Charleston among other mid and low majors.
