Eddie Scott solidifies stock

While the talk surrounding Steve Turner’s squad at Gonzaga College High School surrounds Chris Lykes, a diminutive lead guard with a tenacious nature to him, the cupboard is more than full in complimenting the junior star. One of those who is beginning to see a wide spread recruitment and is expanding his game to the next level is another junior, this being Eddie Scott, a 6-foot-5 wing.

Running with the Team Takeover bunch on the travel circuit the past few years, Scott is a very versatile piece on both the grassroots and high school scenes. Capable of guarding various spots on the defensive end, Scott sports quality length, excellent athleticism at the basket, and quickness which allow for him to recover quickly in different situations.

Offensively, the Maryland native has continued to rework his game and add to it. Progression is the name of the game with Scott, something that he prides himself on in developing his ball skills in rounding out his overall game. Throw in his high level grades and it isn’t surprising to hear about his recruitment that is beginning to heat up as Scott enters his upperclassman years at the DC powerhouse.

“Right now, I am hearing the most from Princeton,” the Gonzaga College High product noted. “I also have offers from Rice, James Madison, Hofstra, George Mason, and Longwood.”

Planning to major in finance or accounting at whichever college that he calls fit, there are a few things that the versatile junior is looking for when it comes time to decide on his next place of residence in two years. “Academics are really important to me and I want a strong basketball program,” Scott said.

Leading a pretty heavy mid-major recruitment, because of his grades and upward trajectory as a ballplayer, expect for some higher level programs throughout the east coast to become acclimated with Eddie Scott as he continues to solidify himself as a very valuable piece within the 2017 recruiting class.
