Team Preview: Seminole County is coming off of a state championship season in AA and is returning all five starters from that championship game against Crawford County. Needless to say that expectations are high in Donalsonville this year for the Indians. Senior wing and UGA commit Jordan Harris is the centerpiece of this team and will be relied on heavily to be the jack-of-all-trades that he has been over the last few years. He averaged over 27 points per game last season and had a monster game in Macon in the state title game, where he went for 41 points. Look for more of the same this year for him as he will be looking for a return to Macon. His partner in crime is also back in point guard Anfernee King. King is also coming off of a very impressive season where he averaged 18 points per contest. He and Jordan Harris form one of South Georgia’s best duos and that will not change this year.
While those two players get most of the love for Seminole County, the Indians also return three other starters and a key guy off the bench. Jahmyka Pearson is one of those starters, coming off of a 15 point-per-game season and he will be a key contributor to this team as well. Also back from last year’s starting lineup is guard Alex Fudge and forward Dwayne Samson. They also return an interesting bench player in 6-foot-7 forward Justin Washington, who is somewhat new to basketball and has developed his game into what could make him a big x-factor to this team. He might be a name to remember for the Indians.
Seminole County is certainly one of the favorites in AA this year. However, AA will be a good classification this year and a repeat in Macon will not be an easy accomplishment.
