Welcome to the 2015-2016 season in the state of Georgia. The March to Macon has officially begun and we couldn’t be more excited to get things rolling here in the Peach State. Everyday for the next couple of weeks we will tackle three questions at 3 p.m. about the upcoming season. 

Justin Young and Carter Wilson will jump right into the conversation about the best teams, best players, best games and much more as the opening tip looms around the corner.

The top team in Fulton County this year is…? 

Westlake. In terms of pure talent, Westlake might be the best team in the state. How all this talent will gel together will be one of the most interesting storylines this year. I like the pieces that this team has and I think their players have enough diversity in their abilities to be a very good team. I also think sophomore guard Jamie Lewis could be this year’s emerging star in the state. - Carter Wilson

I think it is a three-horse race between Westlake, St. Francis and Milton. All three have anchor studs. All three have talented starting fives. All three programs will play an aggressive schedule that will challenge and prepare for the state playoffs. Who is the top team? On paper, it is Westlake. But we have to remember this team was a .500 level team last year and vastly under-achieved. Milton returns stability while St. Francis has the best senior in Georgia with Kobi Simmons. I think Fulton County is the most intriguing of the metro Atlanta counties this season. - Justin Young

The best backcourt in Georgia is....? 

Pebblebrook. This is a backcourt that is filled with scoring firepower. Jared Harper is one of the state’s best shooters and is becoming a much more well-rounded scorer. Collin Sexton is also a high level scorer and is coming off of a travel season that saw him score the ball very well from all levels of the floor. Lastly, JJ Smith is an elite level athlete that will provide an ability to get to the rim and finish above the rim. This three headed attack is going to be a problem for most teams to defend and will carry Pebblebrook to another good season. - CW

A lot of options here but I gotta go with Shiloh. The Generals return tough guys Malik Chandler and Dejon Waters. The seniors logged serious minutes for Kim Rivers and set the tone for how the team wants to defend. Add Josh Okogie and Shemari McCloud - wings that can play in the backcourt - to the mix and you have size and length. Now add move-ins Khalil Richards (LaSalle commitment) and Darnell Rogers (George Washington commitment) and you have some more backcourt diversity. Let’s not forget Alpharetta transfer Greg James either. That’s an insane amount of talent in the backcourt. - JY

The best frontcourt in Georgia is…? 

It’s really hard to argue against Greenforest. For most of the high school season last year, Ikey Obiagu still had not come into his own. He is now the best shot blocker in his class and his presence makes this frontcourt almost unfair. Miami (OH) commit and senior forward Precious Ayah is a high motor player with a knack for rebounding, junior forward Victor Enoh is a physical freak and a rebounding machine, and junior forward Baybe Iyiola plays with a ton of energy and adds even more size. Throw in sophomore Mohammad Abdulsalam and his size and ball skills and you have a frontcourt of five players who are all big Division I prospects. That is unreal. - CW

Westlake. Chuma Okeke, Michael Durr, Ronald Bell and Kevin Simien make for an interesting group. All four were starters last year. All four have logged plenty of minutes at the highest level. Okeke is an all-state stud. Durr keeps improving. Bell is a major match-up problem and one of the best athletes in the city of Atlanta. Simien, a 6-foot-8 sophomore, is still waiting for all ofh is natural gifts to catch-up to skill development. There are plenty of horses in the stable for the Lions. This group will be a headache for teams to prepare for. - JY
