Kieran Hayward sets three visits
While the rankings can be assessed over and over again and there is only so much talent that can go around within the borders of the United States, many programs have begun to address needs by heading overseas and it is the country of Australia that has enabled for schools like Utah, Saint Mary’s, and several others to achieve great success on the college playing floor. A member of the 2016 recruiting class who is now set on taking his talents to the states next winter is Kieran Hayward, a 6-foot-5 playmaking guard, who has three visits set in the coming days.
A deceptively quality athlete at the basket who is capable of throwing down dunks in the lane while also creating for others in the half-court setting, to say that intrigue surrounds the Australian guard would be a giant understatement. Throw in the fact that Hayward can become a knockdown perimeter shooter who could eclipse the 40-percent tallies from beyond the arc throughout the course of any college season and the upside from the overseas recruit is beyond promising.
With offers in hand from the likes of Arizona State, Fairfield, Middle Tennessee State, and Eastern Kentucky, Hayward has set three visits to LSU, Rider, and St. Joe’s. “All three schools share the common characteristic that they seem like I could fit into their program. It's hard to tell until I actually get there as to what each school is really like but I'm so keen on these visits and I'll just have to wait and see how they go,” Hayward noted on the trio of visits that he will take.
On October 31, Hayward will get the chance to see St. Joe’s, a program that has been on Hayward from day one. A few days later and on November 2, the Australian will get a glimpse at the Rider basketball program. Lastly and before returning home, LSU will get the chance to persuade the high-upside recruit on the weekend of November 6.
After completing his senior year of high school, the plan is for Hayward to train these next several months at home before heading off to college next summer. However, things could change and when asked about potentially attending school in the states come the spring semester of 2016, Hayward noted that his pans could change. “I'm not sure yet, I'll have to wait and see how things play out then evaluate the options I have after the visits.”
Regardless, while there is little known about him throughout America, Kieran Hayward looks ready to flourish as a versatile guard within the college basketball landscape come the 2016 season.
