James Love enters into a high-major recruitment

With super long arms and quality athleticism in the open floor, the ceiling that James Love exhibits on the playing floor fits in with the new era five-man who can defend various spots on the floor and provide rim protection in the lane. While his skill development is far from finished, things are beginning to pick up with the American Heritage School big man this fall.

Born in Akron, Ohio, Love was just like LeBron James as he took his talents out of northeast Ohio and into southeast Florida. Maybe in differing situations but the senior big man has gone from a relative unknown and entered himself into a high-major recruitment. After picking up an offer from La Salle a few weeks back, the 6-foot-10 center was able to get a glimpse of the A10 program last weekend. “It was nice. I was intrigued because it was my first visit.”

After getting a look at the Philadelphia-based institution, Bruce Weber took the trip in to see the intriguing senior on Wednesday and dished out a Kansas State offer to the big man. The Big 12 offer goes a long way with the east coast recruit and Love will get a chance to see what the Octagon of Doom can offer as he plans on visiting the campus next Thursday, October, 29.

While all signs point to an early commitment and signing from the American Heritage product, the energized and mobile athlete does have a feel for what he is looking for in a college program. “I love a big campus and gym with good practice facilities so I can go get in work whenever I want to.”

Asked to describe his game, it would seem as if the Buckeye State native has a firm comprehension of what he brings to the floor. “I like to get out and run in the open floor with the guards. I play above the rim and look to dunk almost anything. I have a hook shot that I am developing and have a soft touch around the rim.”

While Stetson has also offered the in-state recruit and Florida A&M is showing further interest, the quick developments and long term upside from James Love looks strong enough for other high-level programs to join the fray alongside the likes of La Salle and Kansas State in pursuit of the active and agile big man of the American Heritage School.
