2015 Fall Preview Team 12 Evaluations

We had a full day of hoops at the 2015 Fall Preview and will spend the next two weeks unloading player evaluations from the camp. We’ll go team by team and unload our notes from our staff. Today we dive deep into Team 12.

TJ Bickerstaff, Sandy Creek, SF, 2019: Coach Winston Neal called him one of the five best shooters in the camp and one of the four best young guards in the field. The long 6-foot-5 wing was one of the more impressive youngsters in the field and made a great first impression on our staff. He plays much older than guy that has yet to step foot onto a high school court for an actual game.

Walter Cunningham, Arabia Mountain, PG, 2016: We really like what he brings to the table. He’s a long and tall point guard with good vision over the top of the defenses. The 6-foot-2 guard had a lot of weapons around him and played selflessly to help the other players shine at what they do well. We like him as a senior year sleeper and want to see how he does this season. Grades are in order, too.

Virgil Fields, Stockbridge, SG, 2016: Coach Winston Neal called him one of the five best shooters in the camp. Hard to dispute that. The 6-foot-4 guard is very coachable and plays hard. He did everything that was asked of him. He was reliable, too. We saw his skill set as a good shooter and a good passer. We like his college size for a backcourt player, too.

Rayshaun Hammonds, Norcross, PF, 2017: Athleticism, evolving ball skills, and versatility in the frontcourt is the name of the game with Hammonds. He can play facing the basket and with his back to it and isn’t afraid of scoring through contact at the basket. One of the most talented prospects in all of Georgia, you can read more about him HERE.

Dejuan Hyde, Henry County, CG, 2016: The 6-foot guard can shoot it well, he handles the rock well and defends with purpose and physicality.

Kyle Kincey, Lincoln (FL), CG, 2016: One of the nice sleepers from the camp. He’s a do-it-all guard that shined in several areas. He’s a good scorer, a capable defender, a versatile guy that can play multiple positions. We liked his size (6-4) and moxy on the court. Non Division I programs looking for a senior season sleeper to chart, he’s a guy to put on that list.

Brice Paster, SG, Lamar Co. (GA), 2018 (pictured above): The name of the game with Brice Paster is crafty and savvy. He rarely ever gets sped up with the ball in his hands and is capable of getting wherever he wants with the ball on the attack, even though he isn’t the quickest of guys around. More of a scorer at heart, Paster can convert from all three levels on the floor where he wields a confident jumper from off the catch and off the deck, but is most comfortable on change of pace dribbles en route to the lid. With plenty of upside and a promising body, Paster showcased a very mature game and skillset on the playing floor at Suwanee Sports Academy on Saturday and looks to be ready to breakout during his sophomore campaign this winter.

Quamell Sanders, Johnson, PG, 2018: Small (5-foot-8), yes, but crafty and self-aware. He's a good distributor and gets it done as a quarterback type of point guard. Pretty quick, too.

Payton Stovall, Winfield, PG, 2017: There aren’t many guys in the Southeast that have a better feel for the game than Stovall. The lefty plays with great pace and has shown he can be a facilitator on offense. He is an entertaining ball-handler and passer, as he has a lot of eye-candy with his game. He will keep you on your toes with his vision and passing ability. Stovall also proved he was a threat from deep, too.

Evaluations come from a collection our staff of 12 coaches, four HoopSeen.com writers and two on-staff college coaches.
