2015 Fall Preview Team 10 Evaluations
We had a full day of hoops at the 2015 Fall Preview and will spend the next two weeks unloading player evaluations from the camp. We’ll go team by team and unload our notes from our staff. Today we dive deep into Team 10.
Gabe Bryant, Dawson County (GA), C, 2018: The big fella went to work this weekend as he brought his hard hat to the interior and displayed a solid back to the basket game on the low block. He is more than comfortable in planting his body in the paint, showing himself appropriately for the entry catch, and then scoring on hooks or turnaround baby jumpers from 10-feet and in. Bryant has the body that should only fine-tune itself further in the coming years and the Fall Preview allowed for the Dawson County center to cement himself as one of the better big men in his state within the 2018 recruiting class. Coach Winston Neal called him one of the four best young (FR/SOPH) players in the camp. One coach called him the hardest worker in the camp.
Ricky Clark, Douglas County, SG, 2018: An athletic wing with good handle and good size at 6-foot-3. Clark showed that he can play both guard positions. He’s long and fluid. There’s a lot of intrigue here. We’d like to see more from him as a jump shooter. Overall, though, he’s a guy that we’ll be watching closely this HS season.
Carson Culverhouse, Carrollton, PG, 2017: The 5-foot-10 guard made the right play and played harder than the majority of players he played with and played against. We liked how he protected the ball as the lead guard. Overall, just a tough guard.
Monte Greene, Johnson, PG, 2016: Small and fast, pesky and energetic, Greene falls in line with what you’d expect from Savannah Johnson point guards. The 5-foot-6 senior didn’t back down from match-ups.
Tae Hardy, Miller Grove, SG, 2017: Cat-quick guard who used a solid jumper all day long for buckets. He has elite speed and showed out as a great defender. Hardy was one of the best scorers in the camp and one of the most productive players in the field.
Isaac Martin, McEachern, SG, 2019: When it comes to just being a great looking prospect, we think he’s one of the better freshmen we’ve seen in Georgia. Martin is a long 6-foot-4 wing guard with a nice feathery touch and shoots his jumpers at the top of his attempts. He’s still very much a work in progress and he’ll have plenty of time to develop on McEachern’s loaded roster. There is a lot to like with his game as we move forward into the HS season. Could be major prospect in time.
James Ruiz, Drew, SG, 2016: Mature game with a mature frame, Ruiz was good in transition and found his slashers on the break. He’s a capable shooter and a solid athlete. Good in the corner as a three-point shooter.
Aidan Saunders, Miller Grove, SG, 2016: The 6-foot-3 senior guard was a nice eye-opener for our staff. He is a long and athletic wing with solid handles and a good to great finisher. Built like a wide receiver, Saunders could develop into a nice college defender because he’s going to be much stronger than his opponents once he gets onto a strength and conditioning program. There’s a lot to like with him and he’s a guy that we could see a recruitment spike this senior season.
Iven Souffrant, East Jackson, PG, 2019: The 5-foot-7 guard did a nice job of going hard and going fast. He’s best at setting guys up and shined as a passer.
Dalvin White, Norcross, PG, 2018: The 5-foot-11 guard is very fast with the ball and knows how to advance his team on offense. He has good height on his jumper and releases at the top of his vertical.
Evaluations come from a collection our staff of 12 coaches, four HoopSeen.com writers and two on-staff college coaches.
