Fall Preview Spotlight: Khavon Moore
The upside and ceiling out of Khavon Moore is nearly untouchable. At the Fall Preview this past Saturday in Suwanee, Georgia, the 6-foot-7 sophomore showed his entire artillery of moves with the basketball in his hands. Displaying superb length, playmaking skills, and a smoothness to him, it is only a matter of time before things heat up on the recruiting front with the talented prospect.
When you talk about a smooth and fluid ball player, Khavon Moore should come immediately to mind. With excellent size for his spot on the floor as the Westside High product is a legitimate wing who is best with the basketball in his hands, where Moore really excels is on the slash and score. He uses the combination of a quality first step and his length to get past the first line of defense before sailing to the basket for the easy lay-in.
Developing his body is a need, but the ball skills out of Moore aren’t too shabby. He can facilitate in the half-court, never plays outside of his element whenever pressure is evident, and has the light body and focus in guarding practically all three spots on the perimeter, along with some power forward whenever needed.
Born in Syracuse, New York, Moore moved to Georgia back in 2010 and ever since, has really blossomed as a ballplayer and it seems his recruitment has just begun. “Auburn and Troy have offered me but Ohio State, Clemson, and WVU have all been in recently to see me at my open gyms.”
Expecting to be seen by UConn in the coming weeks, if all goes according as planned and Moore develops a more consistent outside jumper and fills out much further, the potential for the Atlanta Xpress star to become a national, elite recruit in 2018 is very promising, to say the least.
