2015 Fall Preview Top Performers: Part 2

The Fall Preview was a loaded event with some of the top players from the state of Georgia and surrounding southern states. Our staff of evaluators went nearly 20 people deep. After compiling the evaluations from the coaches and HoopSeen staff, we have identified the 12 top performers and the four biggest story starters.

Here is part 2 of our top overall performers.

Al Durham, SG, Berkmar (GA), 2017: The more I watched Durham, the more I realized that the 6-foot-3 guard could play the point guard spot down the road. He still is best as a scorer of the rock where he can convert on rhythm jumpers from deep and makes explosive finishes at the rim as he can score with either hand in traffic. However, Durham has a great feel for his surroundings as he uses the swing pass appropriately on the perimeter and his vision aids in finding open teammates on look ahead passes on the break. With programs like Virginia Tech, Indiana, and Georgia having already offered the native of Buffalo, New York, expect for many more to get involved with the sturdy guard out of Berkmar High.

Rayshaun Hammonds, F, Norcross (GA), 2017: With the evolution of small ball basketball, a guy like Hammonds becomes even more vital and valuable on the playing surface. Most comfortable on the perimeter, the 6-foot-8 forward nailed a few outside jumpers on Saturday but was most productive around the basket as he finished up a lot of his teammates misses and threw down a a couple of awe-inspiring alley-oop jams. Whenever he doesn’t settle, Hammonds is quite the watch and with great coordination and innate strength, things could click any day now in making the Norcross forward a top-50 recruit in the 2017 recruiting class.

Isaiah Kelly, SF, Pace Academy (GA), 2018: Move over Wendell Carter because Isaiah Kelly is going to take away some of the noise coming out of Pace Academy. The 6-foot-6 forward has a great feel for the game in the half-court setting and is a walking matchup issue each time out. Whether it is converting on the catch and shoot jumper, on the hard slash and score at the rim, or on the low bock post-up and conversion, Kelly can get it done every which way possible. Throw in his quality academics and it’s not a surprise to see such programs as Xavier, Wisconsin, and Vanderbilt heavily involved with him as all three have already offered the deceptive athlete.

Khavon Moore, SG/SF, Westside, 2018: Whenever you have the ball skills, length, and playmaking abilities at your fingertips like Khavon Moore, along with his young age, it is just scary how good he can be down the road. The 6-foot-8 sophomore is a legitimate wing prospect who actually is best served on the ball as a facilitator within the half-court setting. You can nickname him ‘smooth’ because everything that he does looks like it requires little to no effort but he still throws up numbers on the stat sheet and gets you the win. At the end of the day, Moore was arguably the most talented prospect to lace up his shoes on Saturday and is a top tier recruit in his class nationally.
