A name that is beginning to pop up as a pertinent name throughout on the national landscape when it comes to recruiting is Abu Kigab. The 6-foot-6 wing from Canada, who recently transferred into the United States and is now the so-called ‘replacement’ for Josh Jackson at Prolific Prep, after the Michigan native transferred to Justin-Siena High School, has become a commodity recruit for a plethora of the best of programs nationally.

Kigab comes to Prolific Prep known for his competitive nature and do-it-all abilities. He can handle the ball and facilitate within the half-court as a point-forward type, is capable of scoring through contact at the basket off the hard slash and finish, and due to his length, energy, and focus, can defend practically the 1-4. Due to the versatility that the Canadian brings to the floor, Kigab has not only picked up a few offers in recent weeks, but offers from programs that compete for conference titles and even the NCAA Championship.

In speaking on his new home, the Prolific Prep junior is more than thrilled with his current setting out in California. “School is going great! It is a very good environment, people treat you very nice, and the school provides you with everything you need in order to succeed.”

Now in the states and with it being much easier for the college coaches to go out and see Kigab, a number have been in to check out what all the noise is about with the versatile playmaker. “Oregon, Baylor, USC, and Minnesota have all been in lately.”

All of the four schools that have been in recently have offered Kigab, along with the Kansas Jayhawks program. The 6-foot-6 junior is the first Canadian to receive an offer from the blueblood program since Andrew Wiggins suited up in Lawrence and it is something that Kigab is excited about. “It is very humbling.”

While still some time away from any sort of college commitment, there are two schools that have outworked others for the Prolific Prep product so far. “Definitely Oregon and Virginia Tech.”

The Hokies have also offered Kigab, that being his first that he received dating back to last January and now on a squad that will play on a national schedule this winter, expect to hear much more about the Canadian wing that has the chance to see a priority recruitment from all across the nation.
