Making the transition to Blair Academy this fall, Kodye Pugh seems set to see his stock and game hit the next level in playing within the most competitive prep conference in America, that being the MAPL. Pugh decided to reclass a few months back and become a member of the 2017 class and ever since, a bevy of college offers have entered the fold.

What does Pugh bring to the floor? The versatile forward can play various spots and on either side of the ball. The lefty has tremendous instincts on the offensive glass and can hit on nifty pull-ups from 15-feet and in. While strength gain is something that continues to be important for the Blair Academy product’s long-term development, Pugh doesn’t back down from physicality on the floor where he will mix it up within the interior and buys into playing the role set out for him by his coaching staff. Throw in his winning nature and high quality grades and there is a lot to like with the junior out of Baltimore.

While any type of transfer can be difficult, Pugh doesn’t seem to be having much of an issue in settling in at the New Jersey based school. “Things are going great. I think I am transitioning well.” Due to the broad spread of capabilities that the 6-foot-7 forward displays, it really isn’t much of a question of what level Pugh can play at, but more of how difficult it might be to sort through all of the recent interest and offers in establishing the proper place for his college ball.

Ever since July began, programs like Florida, Auburn, Seton Hall, Miami, Vanderbilt, SMU, and on Monday, Stanford dished out an offer to the versatile junior. Fran Dunphy from Temple, Johnny Dawkins from Stanford, and Pat Chambers from Penn State are just a few of the coaches that have been in to see Pugh over the past few days.

While no visits are planned in the coming weeks, Pugh is someone that is definitely on the proper trajectory path as a college recruit. As his body fills out further, his ball skills continue to polish, and he settles into his proper position on the floor, Kodye Pugh should be able to pick from the best of basketball and academic programs nationally.
