A rising sophomore at Park View High School in Virginia, Keldon Johnson has become quite the pursued and offered ballplayer. Standing close to 6’5 and with a gift of scoring the basketball with efficiency and at all three levels on the floor, many schools have already taken note.

Old Dominion was the first program to jump on board with an offer to the 2018 wing during their elite camp back in the middle of June. Cincinnati, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Georgetown, NC State, East Carolina, and Penn State all followed suit. Not too shabby for a sophomore, right? However, that all changed on last week as Shaka Smart dished out an offer to the Team Loaded star before receiving one from Danny Manning and his Wake Forest program that same day.

Johnson is far from a college decision and the only thoughts that came to mind when asked of his recent offers were a simple, “It is really nice!” However, expect for things to heat up quickly beyond just the offers in hand. The 6-foot-5 wing has a brother, Kaleb, heading to Georgetown this fall and the older and taller sibling continues to give advice to the big time scorer of the basketball, of whom set the freshman state record for most points scored during the high school season. “He just says to stay humble and to keep working hard.”

Capable of putting up points in a hurry, Johnson is blessed with a lot of talent, that is for sure. But don’t disregard the Team Loaded star’s willingness to work where he has a few things in mind in taking his game to the next level. “I want to get better at ball handling and on my jumper, and just becoming a better leader.”

With a potential visit to Virginia Tech on September 7 in taking in the start of the college football season as the Hokies host the defending Ohio State Buckeyes, expect to hear much more about Johnson as he has a chance to be an elite, national recruit within his 2018 class.
