Purdue brings in the best of the Midwest

While the Purdue basketball program is still focused in on the 2016 class in adding to recent point guard commitment Carsen Edwards, the Boilermakers will put things aside on Saturday as they bring in a bevy of the top talent throughout the 2017-2019 classes. The Indiana Hoosiers might get all of the buzz within its state borders in hosting top-100 talent in Miles Bridges and Curt Jones, yet Purdue is positioning themselves nicely with its an annual elite camp.

In need of at least two commitments in each of the next few classes, the Midwest seems to be loading up and just one glance at the list that the Big 10 program is aiming to bring in on Saturday displays the ability to, even if they strike out a handful of the mentioned recruits, if they strike on just one or two of them, it could still be quite the coup for the Matt Painter and his staff.

Headlining the elite camp on Saturday is the likes of Christian Negron, Dwayne Cohill, Kevin Easley, Carteare Gordon, Jordan McCabe, Tyler Herro, Courtney Ramey, and Keion Brooks. All bring tremendous production to the floor along with heightened potential at the next level and it would seem Saturday should allow for the resurgent Big 10 program to get a leg up in 2017 and beyond. While a commitment might not be had, if and when one does occur down the road, it wouldn’t surprise to hear that one of the names attending this weekend decide to make West Lafayette their home in college.
