2026 Atlanta Jam Friday Notebook from Justin Byerly
Atlanta, Georgia - The 2026 live period has kicked off here at Suwanee Sports Academy just north of Atlanta and the college coaches were in the building checking out the talent. We started the event with The Atlanta Juco Jam put together by The Welchy Report and HoopSeen. After that, the travel version of The Atlanta Jam kicked off. Let's dive right in and take a look at who I was able to see and who stood out.
Hello My Name Is
Kayden Daniels, SWF All Stars - The 5-foot-11 guard dropped 17 points in the opening game of the event and showed he might be a guy that we continue to talk about all weekend.
He scores so effortlessly and is a creative finisher when he gets into the paint. I am looking forward to seeing him again tomorrow to see if he can keep up the strong play that we witnessed tonight.
Jacen Hamm, BC Elite - Everyone has an opinion about playing up in a division or playing with your own age. Hamm, who is a class of 2028 prospect, dropped 25 points playing up in the 17-and-under division of The Atlanta Jam. The 6-foot-2 guard scored from all spots on the floor.
He showed that he can make shots from the outside, get to the lane, make trips to the free-throw line and knock down the mid-range shots. He was named an All-Region player this past high school season at Jackson (GA) High School.
Marciano Bruno, Hoop Gwinnett - We watched the first half his game and came back for the box score. The 6-foot-4 forward scored 22 points in their win. He is one of the better rebounders for his size that I have seen this travel season. A lot of his baskets came off his athleticism and timing leading to rebounds near the basket that he converted to scores.
Friday Night Lights
This guy will be the first guy I text BYU Director of Recruiting, Justin Young tonight for our All-Name Team. Success Nwabude. 6-foot-7 and 245 pounds. Success is playing with Hoop Athens this weekend but we will more than likely see him playing on Saturdays and Sundays in the future and not on a basketball court.
Nwabude is ranked as the 23rd best prospect in the state of Georgia on the gridiron. He holds numerous offers from Power Five schools as an EDGE and has only been playing organized football for a couple of seasons.
On the basketball court, Nwabude came to America from Nigeria specifically on a basketball scholarship before taking up football. His brother, Godslove Nwabude, played college basketball at Eastern Michigan and recently transferred to Kent State.
Senior Spotlight
2026 prospect Mach Mach, at 6-foot-6 and showing the ability to play on the wing, dropped 20 points in the game we saw tonight. He is long and lanky, causes problems defensively with his length and timing, and can score it. He is extremely athletic and can impact the game with that alone.
Mach is a guy that could take the JUCO route and put up some nice numbers that could translate to a Division I chance. Needs to put on some weight was the consensus among the college coaches in attendance but they liked the upside he shows.
