Florida gets commitment from Hester
Florida head coach Mike White got some bad news last night as 2016 power forward John Mooney opted to re-open his recruitment from the Gators. However, Friday brought better news, as combo guard Eric Hester made his pledge.
“I believe Florida is going to get me to the next level,” Hester told HoopSeen.com. “I trust in Coach White and his system. The whole staff made me feel like family before I even committed.”
The 6-foot-3 guard identified Florida as the one school making him a priority during the UA Finals at Suwanee Sports Academy. Since being hired, White and his staff have stayed in constant contact with Hester.
Hester brings versatility on both ends of the floor with his length and athleticism. He has found a niche with his defense, though. He is known as one of the best on-ball defenders in the 2016 class.
Louisville, USF, UCF, Florida State, and Indiana were also involved with Hester.
