2025 HoopSeen Fall Preview - 1st Team
After a great event with tons of talent in the gym, our staff discussed a ton of options for this 1st Team (in addition to MVP Jason Welborn). For these selections, a ton of emphasis was put on the players that were able to lead their team to winning. 4 of the 5 members of this 1st team participated in our camp championship game and showed that they can impact winning on any team they're on:
2027 Max Etienne
Max Etienne lit it up at Fall Preview, especially from beyond the arc where he was on fire all afternoon. What makes him stand out is not just the shooting, but also the way he makes the right reads and decisions with the ball in his hands. He showed maturity in his game for a young prospect, and when the semifinal came around, he completely took over and dominated. Etienne proved he can impact winning in a big way, and he’s definitely one of the names to know in the 2027 class. - Mekhi McKinney
2026 Donaven Thomas
This 6 foot combo guard can light it up. He is not your biggest combo guard, but he is quick and can score from anywhere. Donaven is a gritty defender that can get steals and finish well in transition. He has a calm demeanor, but he plays with a ton of energy. Offensively, he has the quickness to be a slasher, knocks down threes at a high clip, and is a real threat from mid-range. Donaven is a sleeper. I saw him play well all summer and with his recent transfer to Grayson, his recruitment has a chance to really pick up. - D’Marcus Simonds

2026 Bryce Jackson
Bryce Jackson established himself as a name that everyone in the camp knew by the end of the day. Long, athletic guard that was dominant through drills & once games began. Anytime you looked over at his court, Jackson was hanging from the rim or making an impact for his team in some way. Defensively, we loved to see the effort and intensity he brought the entire day. He willingly picked up his man full-court and was able to use his size to switch 1-5 if needed. Outside of just attacking the rim, Jackson found success at the mid-range and was able to get to his spots off the dribble without having too many wasted dribbles. From the outside, we'd like to see him develop into a more consistent shooter as he was streaky throughout the day. Nothing that reps can't fix.
Bryce can best be described as an "eye-catcher". He fits the description of what college programs are looking for in a high school athlete in today's recruiting climate. If it was not for another player's insane performance at the camp - Bryce would have been going home with MVP honors along with Team 7's championship. High-level guard that had multiple coaches in the gym talking. - Jordan Wyton
2026 Darrion Hadley
Simply put, Darrion Hadley is a Swiss Army knife. He has the frame to defend multiple positions on the floor, and offensively, he is solid all around. Darrion allows the game to come to him and does not force possessions. He showed great vision throughout the day by racking up a good amount of assists. The 6’3 lefty swingman can use his handle to get downhill and finish, but he is more than capable of knocking down the catch and shoot three. I will be most interested in how he performs defensively this upcoming season because he has potential to be a true wing stopper with his frame. Darrion has a lot of upside but needs to be in better shape to reach the next level. - D’Marcus Simonds

2026 Bryce Howson
Bryce is a stocky six foot guard with a lot of craftiness to his game. Time after time, he showcased his ability to break down the defense with his handle. He also has good instincts in helpside defense. Bryce is able to read the offenses and get in the passing lanes with his quickness. Howson broke down defenses with his handle and showed good vision on the move. He was a good shooter off the dribble while also knocking down some tough mid range and deep looks. Overall, I think he has all of the tools to dominate, but he needs to become a more steady guard to do so. - D’Marcus Simonds
