HoopSeen Fall Preview Champs: Team 7 Evals
In a new format for the HoopSeen Fall Preview, we opted to go with a 2-game guarantee with a 3rd if it was earned through bracket play. We saw a group of talented young players compete all day & give it their all to make an impression on the coaches & scouts in attendance. At the end, Team 7 coached by Dacula Assistant Josh Franklin came out on top. Out of this group, Coach Frank emphasized the importance of a defensive mindset and this group took that advice to heart. They shut down teams all afternoon by getting stops on the defensive end and pushing the pace to score in transition. Great teammates who supported each other, you could have thought they had played together for years, not just thrown together at a camp. Here is a look at their roster & the group of winners that it comprised of:
2026 Bryce Jackson - Gainesville
Bryce Jackson established himself as a name that everyone in the camp knew by the end of the day. Long, athletic guard that was dominant through drills & once games began. Anytime you looked over at his court, Jackson was hanging from the rim or making an impact for his team in some way. Defensively, we loved to see the effort and intensity he brought the entire day. He willingly picked up his man full-court and was able to use his size to switch 1-5 if needed. Outside of just attacking the rim, Jackson found success at the mid-range and was able to get to his spots off the dribble without having too many wasted dribbles. From the outside, we'd like to see him develop into a more consistent shooter as he was streaky throughout the day. Nothing that reps can't fix.
Bryce can best be described as an "eye-catcher". He fits the description of what college programs are looking for in a high school athlete in today's recruiting climate. If it was not for another player's insane performance at the camp - Bryce would have been going home with MVP honors along with Team 7's championship. High-level guard that had multiple coaches in the gym talking.
2026 Darrion Hadley - Midtown
On a team full of great players, Darrion was the glue that did everything that was asked of him on the court. He's a versatile 6'3 Combo with a stocky frame that gives coaches versatility on the court. He consistently makes winning plays in a variety of ways.
Rebounding - Coach Frank felt that Darrion was the best rebounder at the camp from the guard spot. He attacks the defensive glass & can either bring the ball up the court or look downcourt for streaking guards or rim-running posts.
Scoring - Darrion scored in a multitude of ways at the camp. Whether on the rim after catching alley-oops from teammate Bryce Howson, mid-range pull-ups after a single dribble from the wing, or catch & shoot 3's - Darrion found success scoring the ball many different ways.
Passing - In probably the highlight of Darrion's day, he found high-flying teammate Bryce Jackson for an alley-oop from the opposite wing that was truly impressive on both sides. Sees the floor well and hits his teammates where they can be successful.
Darrion's best basketball is in-front of him, he's a scholarship level player that multiple coaches were asking about throughout the camp.
2026 Bryce Howson - Decatur
Easy to say what Bryce Howson is good at..DOWNHILL, GETS TO THE CUP!!
Man, this kid is on go-mode at all times. Sitting on defense, communicating with his teammates & his opponents for that matter. An absolute dawg that showed off a lot of the characteristics folks have been hearing about from the Decatur guard. With such a loaded group at DHS, Howson isn't always the first player mentioned as much but Howson can absolutely play at a high-level with the best PG's in Georgia.
Coach Frank recalls his favorite moment of the day, "this dude Bryce Howson was on my bench, someone got fouled at the rim, and he ran from the bench and was the first guy to pick him up. Thought it was special and spoke to the type of teammate and young man he is."
Typical, smaller & stocky bulldog guard that you see find success at the next level. Howson's stock has continued to rise over the past few months and after another great camp performance we only expect his recruiting to improve. He's a PG that can help a program win.
2026 Mason Houston - Meadowcreek
Mason Houston was a name our staff was unfamiliar with coming into the day but made a positive impression on us immediately. Naturally he passes the eye-test when you see him, good size, moves well, good kid "yes sir, no sir" type of guy.
On the court he did a lot to impact winning. He's a great cutter, knows how to move without the basketball. Made it easy for his teammates to find him backdoor for easy dunks and layups. Around the rim he finishes really well with great touch. Finishes strong through contact.
Defensively, he's an anchor. He can switch on multiple positions and is great at altering shots with his wingspan on a closeout or coming from the help side. We'll be tracking Houston this upcoming season at Meadowcreek after a championship performance at camp. Bigger 2026 forward to put on your radar going into the high school season.
2026 Adrian Neal - Archer
Adrian Neal was an absolute pest on the defensive end from the very beginning of bracket play. In a camp setting like this, he impressed with his selflessness and commitment to winning. He continued to find open teammates throughout the day and kept the energy rolling on both ends with the guys.
Good basketball IQ, he makes winning plays and is a great teammate. Vocal guy who was first to pick up a teammate who had been knocked down or to hype a teammate up after a missed shot.
2026 Micah McMorris - Peachtree Ridge
Ultimate hustle guy. One of the lasting memories I have of his day at camp was a play in-between court 3 & 2 where Micah went full speed into the bleachers diving for a loose ball where he knocked over multiple chairs and items sitting on the bleachers. That type of effort would be impressive in a game-setting but in a camp...that just speaks to the type of player McMorris is; a COMPETITOR.
He's a shooter. His 3pt shooting and floater stuck out as a high-level trait and Coach Frank says he was probably the best floor spacer on their championship squad. He's a smooth player. Everything he does looks clean and through his height and stature, he passes the eye-test of a potential collegiate prospect.
Better on the ball than off it. He made good decisions for his team that ultimately led to winning. Exciting transfer to Peachtree Ridge to track this upcoming season.
2028 Zyan Tribbey - Eagles Landing
The young Zyan Tribbey was the only non-senior on our championship group but the Eagles Landing guard held his own. Just like the rest of the group, he's a pest defensively. Extremely coachable who came into the day with a growth mindset wanting to learn. You can tell he has had good leadership in his basketball career up to this point.
Really good job with off-ball movement. Was able to get himself and his teammates open. He's solid young guard with a lot of room to grow who held his own with the older players at the camp
All in all, it was great to see a group of young men compete the way they did the entire day. We look forward to tracking these guys as they head into their high school seasons.
