🏀 2025 NextGen Preview Notes – D'Marcus Simonds
Aiden Goode - MVP
Aiden Goode is a High IQ Point guard that plays with an unusual amount of poise for his age. The lefty has a crafty handle that allows him to get to his spots and create plays for himself or others. He is a microwave that makes plays in bunches on both sides of the ball. He was able to slice up defenses with his slash and pass abilities and showed great decision making for a young guard. The jump shot is still streaky as to be expected from a young player, but he’s definitely a prospect to keep an eye on. - D’Marcus Simonds

Â
Aiden Mitchell is a physical guard that can affect the game from both sides of the ball. He took advantage of all of the opportunities he got offensively. He proved to be a good catch and shoot option and consistently finished through contact at the rim. He attacked close outs relentlessly and made the defense pay all day. Defensively, he was able to accumulate a nice number of steals and was a menace on the ball. Sawyer Finley - 1st Team
Finley is a long forward that can affect the game in many different ways. He played with a high motor all day and consistently beat the defense down the floor whether he pushed the pace off the dribble or ran the floor looking for a finish. He was a solid on ball defender causing turnovers that led to points on the other end. Finley works relentlessly on the glass and gains his team a lot of extra possessions. Kennedi Robinson - 1st Team
Mr. Robinson was a problem from the moment the balls were rolled out. He was the fastest player in the gym, and it showed with his aggressive attacks to the basket. He was able to slither through defenses with his lightning fast handle and showed off multiple different finishes inside. He is a solid passer while possessing good vision and is more than willing to be a playmaker for others. His jump shot is streaky, so he relies on his slashing abilities to score the ball. If Kennedi puts a jump shot in with his other tools, he will be a force. - D’Marcus Simonds

Tristian Patton
Patton proved to be one of the more confident shooters throughout the day. He hunted mid-range looks all day, but he can step out and knock down the open three as well. At times, he took poor shots which will improve with decision making. Tristian needs to develop more physicality. He is very talented offensively, and if his motor catches up with his other tools, he will be an exciting prospect to follow. - D’Marcus Simonds

Patrick McClain
McClain was one of the better catch and shoot threats on the floor all day. He moved well without the ball while hunting an opportunity for a good look from mid-range or three. He showed a solid ability to pass on the break and made the right passes time and time again. He has great shooting mechanics and can not be left open. His footwork and guard skills are still developing,  but he still seeks ways to make a difference through his IQ and motor. - D’Marcus Simonds
