2025 Bama Jam: 17U Top Performers, Part III

HOOVER, AL – Another Bama Jam is officially in the rearview mirror for us here at HoopSeen and like the previous renditions, the 2025 edition of action has plenty to talk about.

We’re kicking off our event coverage by looking at the top performers from the 17U division, headlined by some of the best overall players in the event.

Without further adieu, here’s our third installation of the top performers from the 17U division…

Diggy Coleman, Pro One UA: Coleman is the definition of a lead guard and he has the keys to the car for this year’s Pro One team. The stout lefty is cerebral with his game, whether it’s pressing the gas in transition or slowing things down and playing in the half-court. With his strength, Coleman can play like a pinball with his knack for bouncing off defenders and getting to his spots. When going downhill to his left, the Dothan (AL) guard is hard to force off his line. I think you’ll see a wide variety of college programs throw their hat in the mix for Coleman during the travel season. - Garrett Tucker

Milton Jones, JSI Elite: Jones had a phenomenal weekend for JSI Elite showcasing his all-around game. The 6-foot-5 forward plays the game from inside to out, competing in the trenches and getting easy baskets at the rim to backing things out and making shots in the mid-range. There aren’t many players around better than him off of two feet. Jones also gets plenty of lift on his jumper, allowing him to rise above defenders and get good looks on his shots. I thought it was a quality weekend for the Fairfield (AL) product and programs from the Atlantic Sun, Big South, and OVC will want to see him this spring. - Garrett Tucker

Tarris Bouie, Team Thad: Talk about making a quick impression — that’s exactly what Bouie did in Team Thad’s first game of the event. The 6-foot-6 wing was able to showcase his length and athleticism from the jump, as he forced turnovers in the opening games’ first three possessions that led to plays above the rim. The North Carolina product is a smooth operator with the ball in his hands, too. He can score the ball in a variety of ways and is one of the more gifted offensive players in the South. At the next level, I think you’ll see Bouie be inserted as a prototypical 3&D type prospect. - Garrett Tucker

Jackson McCutheon, Shockers: We could have gone with a handful of Shockers’ players in the top performer list, but I thought McCutheon showed his value as a shooter and connector as good as anyone this weekend. When his feet were set, the Brentwood (TN) guard was as lethal a shooter as there was in the building. However, he also was able to put the ball on the floor and create shots for others, too. McCutheon had several hockey assists each game by making the extra pass and playing the right way. - Garrett Tucker

Kaden Arterberry

Kaden Arterberry, Grind Nation: Arterberry was a consistent double-double threat at Bama Jam, highlighted by his tremendous presence in the lane as an enforcer. Built like an SEC-level defensive end, the 6-foot-5 forward was one of the best rebounders we saw overall. He’s tough as nails and embraces the physicality of the game — just ask those opposing teams he went up against. The Mississippi big man carved out space and planted his flag in the lane on both ends of the floor no matter who Grind Nation suited up against. If you’re looking for a guaranteed 10 points and 10 rebounds, this is your guy. - Garrett Tucker
