2025 Bama Jam: 17U Top Performers, Part II
HOOVER, AL – Another Bama Jam is officially in the rearview mirror for us here at HoopSeen and like the previous renditions, the 2025 edition of action has plenty to talk about.
We’re kicking off our event coverage by looking at the top performers from the 17U division, headlined by some of the best overall players in the event.
Without further adieu, here’s our second installation of the top performers from the 17U division…
K.J. Lee, UWin Serventz: Lee’s offensive arsenal was on full display this weekend. In fact, he may have been one of the better overall shooters that took the floor inside the Finley Center. The 5-foot-11 guard nailed multiple three-point attempts each game, making shots off the catch and off the dribble. Don’t be fooled, though. The Hazel Green (AL) guard is more than a shooter. He’s crafty off the dribble and can score at all three levels with his smooth play. Lee mixed things up each game, but he’s made an early claim as one of the most skilled offensive players in the HSA.
Corien Coleman, Crimson Kings: When talking about production from Bama Jam, Coleman’s name has to be brought up. The 6-foot-4 wing/forward touches all facets of the game with his versatility and ‘positionless’ style of play. On offense, the Williamson (AL) product made the most of his athleticism and explosiveness as he got by defenders and consistently made tough finishes at the rim. When Coleman puts his head down and attacks the rim, it’s nearly impossible for a defender to stop him. He brings a wealth of defensive versatility with his size, length, and toughness. I feel pretty confident saying he can guard 1-5 on the floor. If I’m a low to mid-major Division I program in the South, I’m putting Coleman on my short list of guys that get stuff done. - Garrett Tucker
Isiah Ring, D13 Elite: If you’re looking for a two-way guard from Bama Jam, the discussion may start with Ring. The long, lanky 6-foot-3 guard was a menace for opposing teams all weekend with his length and quickness. He disrupted passing lanes and set the tone early for D13 Elite. On offense, Ring used his quick first step to blow by defenders and get in the lane to make plays. He’s the ideal hard-hat guard that comes ready for the challenge each game. - Mekhi McKinney
Joshua Martin, We Play: Martin did a nice job making the most of his size and athleticism over the weekend – just ask the rims at the Finley Center. The 6-foot-8 forward had several high-flying finishes above the rim, whether it was off ball screen rolls or in transition. The junior also showcased his defensive versatility as he guarded multiple positions during switches. Martin played hard and with a purpose all weekend, landing himself a spot on our top performers list. There’s a lot all-around with Martin, and he’s only going to get better with more time and reps. - Mekhi McKinney
Isaiah McClain, Pro One Academic: I’ll be honest, I’ve slept on Minor (AL) point guard Isaiah McClain up to this point. After his performances at Bama Jam, that will no longer be the case. The 5-foot-9 floor general was impressive for the Pro One Academic squad from start to finish during the weekend’s play. He’s a jet with the ball in his hands and he showed he can change speed and direction with some of the best guards in the event. McClain also whizzed some tough passes into tight windows, showing his next-level vision and basketball IQ. He’ll definitely be a guard to track this season on the HoopSeen Association. - Garrett Tucker
