Key Games This Week in North Carolina

The season is here. 365 days later and we are back with the start of basketball in North Carolina. Let's take a look at some of the key games that are going down this week in the state.

Thursday

Ambassador Christian vs Queens Grant

Two programs, one with a state-champion head coach in its first year of competition and another with one of Charlotte and North Carolina’s best coaches will face off against each other on Thursday night in Charlotte. Ambassador Christian now coached by Scott Taylor, who won state title at Myers Park high school and Queen‘s Grant  Who is coached by Joe Badgett, who won multiple state championships at Carmel Christian. Both programs have added transfer pieces to their program with the closing of a few Charlotte area schools. Both programs also feature college level recruitable prospects. Prospects to watch in this one are Ambassador's senior duo of JD Bowden, a 6-1 guard and 6-5 Dylan Deluca. A name that might sound familiar is Rucker Jamison, a freshman who is the son of former Charlotte prep standout and North Carolina All-American Antwan Jamison who played in the NBA for over a decade. For Queen's Grant, 6-7 forward Wesley White, 6-8 Cannon DeBerry, and a guy we have seen a lot of on our HoopSeen stage, 6-4 senior guard Ian Howard. Freshman guard Jamal Mustaf is the younger brother of Georgia Tech guard Jaeden Mustaf and the son of the late Jerrod Mustaf who starred at Maryland and was a 17th pick in the NBA Draft.

Friday and Saturday

A regional scouting/event company will host an event at Carmel Christian.
