HoopSeen Elite Preview: Team 1 & 2 Evaluations

We had a fantastic day of action on Sunday at the Elite Preview. During drills, gameplay, and other sessions, our coaches and staff were closely evaluating all the action.

Here’s what our coaches and staff had to say about Team 1 & 2 (Top Performers can be found here: Part I  |  Part 2

Beau was one of the better passers at the camp that played high IQ basketball all day. He hit open shots and frequently made great cuts to the basketball that gave him easy finishes.

Chandler is a prototypical 3 and D player that thrives this day and age on the court. He took pride each time down on the defensive end of the floor where his matchup often had to pass away from the pressure. On the other end, he knocked down several long 3 pointers.

One of the younger players at the camp, Peck has intriguing size. His activity led him to often get free and finish open layups. He also had no problem knocking down open shots from distance. He looks to progress as a stretch forward.

Jake was an absolute monster on the glass all day. Time and time again you found him getting a rebound and finishing an extremely tough layup through contact. He was not just a paint presence, however. He also showed he can put the ball on the deck and get to the basket.
Lester Allen Jr

Lester was one of our best ball handlers at the camp. He rarely, if ever, lost control of his dribble and always kept it alive, even through heavy traffic. He has an extremely quick first step that gets him to the basket and once there, he has the ability to dish for an easy finish or create contact and get to the line.

Malik is a great defender who moves extremely well and doesn’t shy away from pressuring the ball handler. He ran the floor well and frequently created opportunities for others. Malik can also knock down open shots from distance.
Justin Simmons

Justin was the key factor in Team 2’s great defense all day. He showed incredible energy on defense and made it tough on his matchup throughout the camp. He also crashes the glass extremely well for a guard. On the other end he sees the whole floor and has a high basketball IQ. Simmons is a player every team needs on the floor.

A freshman with great size and length, Nathaniel is a promising prospect at his age. The promise starts on the defensive end as his length and quickness are very hard for ball handlers to get around. On offense, once Bronson was comfortable in the paint his length led to some easy opportunities.
