Georgia's NCAA Tournament representatives

The NCAA Tournament is underway. Well, the First Four is underway, but that still counts.

As is tradition around HoopSeen, we are digging through rosters to see which former Georgia hoopers are in the field.

Here’s who Peach State basketball aficionados can find suiting up at some point in this tournament.

Stephon Castle, UConn: Former Newton Ram Steph Castle is going to be the most prominently featured player from Georgia in this tournament. He is one of the significant contributors on the top-seeded team in the tournament. Whether he has six games left or one, this will be Castle’s only tournament because he’s projected to be a one-and-done prospect that will be selected in the lottery of the summer’s NBA Draft.

Myles Rice: Look, there’s no better story than Myles Rice in this season’s NCAA Tournament. After beating cancer the redshirt freshman out of Sandy Creek High School has helped lead the Cougars to their first tournament appearance since 2008. Rice has averaged 15.1 points per game this season and was named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year in addition to first team All-Pac-12 honors.

Clemson: The Tigers are stacked with Georgia hoopers. From Chase Hunter and Dillon Hunter with Westlake High School ties to Chauncey Wiggins and Ian Schieffelin who starred at Grayson High School to RJ Godfrey from North Gwinnett High School, there’s no roster in the field with more players from the Peach. If you’re looking for a squad to pull for, and you love Georgia basketball, this is your group.

Auburn: If Clemson is the team most loaded with Georgia-affiliated players, Auburn easily has the second most Dylan Cardwell, Jalen Harper, KD Johnson and Jaylin Williams having spent time cutting their teeth in Peach State basketball gyms.
