East Tennessee

HEADLINES

Jason Britton (North Greene) marked himself a Husky legend as the Tusculum signee became the all-time leading scorer in all of Greene County. He has had a stupendous senior campaign including scoring over 1,000 points this season alone. He finished things off in a major way scoring 36 points as the Huskies traveled to Harriman and staked their place in the state tournament with a big win on the road.

Jahvin Carter (Alcoa) saved some of his best work for last as he helped lead his squad to another state tournament bid and a chance to defend their crown. Carter scored 32 in the district championship against Austin East, followed that up with 34 in the region opener against Gatlinburg-Pittman then added a 44-point joint against Austin East in the region final.

This has been a magical season for the dynamic triumvirate from Fulton. The guys will look to defend their state championship later this week but not before some of the most unbelievable accomplishments we have ever witnessed. Check this out. Tyler Lee (Fulton) with 1,700 points and 1000 rebounds. Taj Kimber (Fulton) and Denaj Kimber (Fulton) with 1,500 points and 500 assists each. Great kids and wonderful players.

Caden Windle (William Blount) put the finishing touches on an outstanding high school career. The school's all-time leading scorer didn't disappoint in his final three games scoring 34 against Knoxville Central, 28 against Maryville and 26 against Hardin Valley.

Carson Bolton (Jellico) caught our attention with a monster 50-point game earlier this season. He dropped 29 against Harriman in a region final loss but was on his game as the Blue Devils got the win on the road in their sub-state game and will be playing at state later this week.

SCORING EXPLOITS

Colin Brown (Tennessee) had a game for the ages dropping 54 points in a season-closing contest against Grainger.

Richard Bell (Northview Academy) put the finishing touches on an outstanding season as the big guy dropped 33 against Seymour and added a 28-point effort against Clinton.

Reese Frazier (McMinn County) let nobody forget his final couple games of the season. He dropped 36 against Sequoyah, 28 against Rhea County, 25 against Walker Valley and closed with a 31 piece against Howard in the region opener.

Trey Thompson (Greeneville) closed out his sophomore season with a flourish as he dropped a 40 bomb on Cherokee and scored a 33 spot against Claiborne in the district title game. He also managed to slide past the coveted 1,000-point barrier for his career.

Shane Cherry (Austin East) was in a word unstoppable as his Roadrunners made the trek down to Chattanooga and took care of Brainerd in the sub-state. Cherry dropped 31 in the win and the next stop will be the state tournament. Along the way, Cherry added a 27-point effort against Alcoa and a 40-point effort in the region final against those same Tornadoes.

Jordan McCullum (Harriman) had a monster senior season highlighted by his 35-point effort against Greenback and his 46-point gem against Jellico in the region final.
