Five of Georgia's Best Available 2024s
At this point in a recruiting cycle, most players toward the top of national and state rankings are off the board. However, that doesn’t mean that everyone is committed and signed.
There are available prospects for every level from the most elite nationally to the hidden gems.
In Georgia, the top of the best available list lands somewhere in between the two extremes. There are known, recruited Division-I-caliber players available.
Let’s take a look at some of them.
Richards is one of the most intriguing available prospects in the state. At 6-foot-7, he has a lot of natural, raw tools that coaches can work with.
Richards is long, athletic, and he plays with a high motor. He’s most impactful as a defender and rebounder right now. He can legitimately guard multiple positions from guards to bigs, and his efforts on the glass have had scouts and opposing coaches raving for years. Richards is an exemplary model of how to win rebounding battles.
Alabama A&M, Kennesaw State and Catawba College are some of the schools that have extended offers to Richards as recently as June.
Gause came to Georgia over the summer and immediately showed that he was one of the best guards in the state after debuting with Milton (GA) during the June live periods.
He popped off the page as a scorer immediately. Gause can fill it up from all levels, and he’s a shifty creator off the bounce. Milton has become known for their great guards over the years, and Gause fits in well with that lineage. He’s offensively skilled and makes an impact on the other side of the ball as well.
Gause has several DIs recruiting him and should continue to generate buzz throughout the winter.
It feels like Brown has been operating toward the top of Georgia’s 2024 class for as long as anyone. In other words, he’s been very good for a long time.
The lefty guard is having a great start to his senior season. He’s a senior leader on a team that’s expected to repeat as state champions, and he hasn’t disappointed. Brown is a bucket-getter. He can get hot from three and consistently finish tough at the rim.
There’s something to be said for a player that has been successful year after year, and Brown has been that player throughout his entire high school career.
This winter is looking like it’s going to be a big one for Lawson. He has already had some eye-popping statistical games.
Lawson is a big-time scorer. He’s a wing/forward who combines skill and power well. Lawson has the frame and strength to play as a more traditional power forward, but he can shoot and handle the ball like a perimeter player. He’s the major source of offense for Tucker (GA), and he can fill it up from all over the floor.
He’s a player that always generates intrigue from coaches when they’re out and about. He’s a player deserving of some attention from the next level throughout this high school season.
Nash is another transfer from out of state that immediately jumped in with the best in Georgia’s senior class.
A strongly-built point guard, Nash has been at his best as a distributor in his short time at Powder Springs (GA) McEachern so far. He sees the floor well and gets the ball where it needs to go for his team to be in the best positions to score. Nash can score well himself when needed as well. His jumper looks smooth, and he can get by defenders and into the paint reliably.
Nash has a long list of offers and interests ranging from high-major to mid-major programs.
