It’s been a busy few months for 2026 Alabaster (AL) Thompson wing Colben Landrew. After having a quality few days with Game Elite at the US Open Championships at the end of July, the 6-foot-5 sharpshooter became a trending prospect with high-major programs. 

Since then, Landrew has added high-major scholarship offers from Alabama, Auburn, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss along with a flurry of new interest. Those SEC programs joined the likes of Virginia Tech, Florida International, UAB, Jacksonville State, Tennessee Tech, and Wichita State.

“Georgia Tech, NC State, and Michigan are also showing some interest,” Landrew told HoopSeen.com. 

Landrew had the opportunity to visit both Alabama and Auburn a few weeks ago, where he landed offers from both in-state rivals. He competed at Alabama’s elite camp and impressed while Auburn extended an offer on an unofficial visit to campus. 

He took a moment to outline what he likes about both the Crimson Tide and Tigers with us.

Alabama: “I liked competing at Alabama. Their facilities are nice and the practice was really fun to watch.”

Auburn: “The visit to Auburn was nice and organized. I loved the hype at their practice.”

Landrew is expected to play a pivotal role on Thompson’s roster this season. With a young team headlined with underclassmen, his experience from last season will be important for the Warriors as they look to compete in 7A.
