As always, the Best of the South was a stage for the next wave of talent to showcase their skill set. Here’s round two of our top performers from the 16 and under division of the Best of the South.

Kevin Blaser, SG, Florida Elite, 2018: Blaser caught the eye of mid-major programs in the building with his size and build on the wing. For a Florida Elite team that won the 16U championship, Blaser led the way throughout the weekend and turned heads the entire time. His physicality allowed him to get to the rim and finish through contact. Blaser was definitely one of the more intriguing prospects of the entire weekend. - KK

Tony Jackson, SF, Louisville Magic, 2017: Jackson was one of my favorite guys to watch at #BOTS. The 6-foot-5 forward is as rough and physical as they come. He isn't afraid to battle in the paint with bigger players. He embraces contact and thrives with it. The rising junior showed he can put the ball on the floor and attack the rim, as well as keep the defense honest with his reliable shot from the perimeter. Jackson is a high major prospect that deserves some recognition in the coming weeks. - GT

Greg James, SG, Southern Stampede, 2017: James took on the role of leading scorer with the 16U Southern Stampede squad with a couple of roster shake ups. And he thrived in that role. He makes his living with the perimeter jump shot, which he has been successful with al spring and summer. When defenders closed out hard, he had the ability to put the ball on the floor and get to the rim. He could be a 2017 Georgia prospect to watch out for. - CW 

Eric Thornton Jr., PG, SR1 Mississippi All-Stars, 2017: Thornton was a nice find over the weekend. The 6-foot-1 guard is a high-major athlete, as he can jump out of the gym and play above the rim. He does a great job of slicing through the defense and getting to the rim. The talented scorer made his mark with some high-scoring games, including a 27-point performance in the 16U Silver championship game. He will be an interesting prospect to track in Mississippi. - GT

Cole VonHandorf, PG, The Travelers, 2017: There aren’t many players who understand the game quite like VonHandorf. The 6-foot-2 guard showed off his high basketball IQ and understanding of the game throughout the week. He can facilitate and get the ball to his teammates, as well as score for himself. A well-built lefty, VonHandorf is dangerous with his mid-range pull-up. Mid majors will want to keep an eye on him going forward. - GT

Kaleb Wesson, C, All Ohio Red, 2017 (pictured above): The recent Ohio State commit is a big body on the interior who is nearly impossible to stop from getting position on the block, where he scores with great efficiency when he gets catches. His signature move at BOTS was a little baby hook over this left shoulder, which worked well for him. He is also a very productive rebounder as his body slows him to keep position on any opposing player. The Buckeyes are getting a good one with Wesson. - CW
