Drake lands commitment from point guard K.J. Tenner
2024 Cordova (TN) point guard K.J. Tenner announced his commitment to Drake on Sunday evening following an official visit to campus over the weekend.
“Drake felt like home to me. I built a great relationship with the staff and it was the best situation for me and my family,” Tenner told HoopSeen.com following his commitment. “The Missouri Valley is a great conference to play in and I truly believe I can do well at Drake.”
The Bulldogs are getting a dynamic, high-scoring guard in Tenner, who has become one of the premiere players in the city of Memphis. He showcased his scoring ability this summer during both the June and July evaluation periods. The 5-foot-10 guard caught the eye of Drake after some big scoring outings in Rock Hill, South Carolina at the adidas finale.
What can you expect for Tenner under Darian Devries at Drake?
“Coach Devries envisions me being a player that can score on all three levels, create for others, and be a leader.”
Tenner ultimately chose the Bulldogs over scholarship offers from Bradley, Morehead State, Murray State, and Rice. He is the first commitment for Drake in the 2024 recruiting cycle.
