The two best teams all week squared off in the Best of the South 16U Gold Bracket championship. Florida Elite and the Louisville Magic went at it in a physical battle that was not for the weak of heart. In the end, Florida Elite's size and strength wore down Louisville Magic, resulting in a 46-39 win for Florida Elite. 

 

"This week has been a total team effort. Everyone bought into our team concept, and our goal was to win. Because they bought into that, we had some success this week," said Florida Elite head coach John Liptak. 

 

The MVP of the tournament was Kevin Blaser. The 2017 6-foot-6 IMG Academy product shot the ball very well all weekend. 

 

"Offensively, Kevin is one of the best shooters in the country. Since he's a good shooter, teams have to close out hard on him and he is athletic enough to go around them and finish at the rim," Liptak said. 

 

Overall, it was a great weekend for Florida a Elite and standouts Blaser, Chol Marial, Jacob Tracey, and Louis Benjai among others.
