Recruitment Trending Upward for Kennan Wilkins
This guy has been on our platform for a while and he continues to win each and every time we get the chance to see him. He did it in 2021 when he took Hendersonville all the way to the end of the NCHSAA 2-A bracket before falling to back-to-back champs Farmville Central, he did it at Christ School where he transferred after spending time at Hendersonville High School and led them to the NCISAA 2022-2023 state 4-A title. This spring and summer with Upward Stars Upstate-Fagan, he WAS the reason they knocked off 1 of 1 Rare by dropping 32 points at our Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions.
All of this winning has finally led to two programs at the Division One level to believe what we have been seeing for four years. McNeese State and Jacksonville University have offered the 2024 point guard. Wilkins and his teammates will begin their June live period at the NCISAA Live Period this weekend at Greensboro Day and will be on the quest to repeat as state-champions this year.
At the Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions, Wilkins was named to the All-Tournament team and I wrote this about him after his upset win for Upward Stars Upstate.
"The baby faced guard for Upward Stars Upstate put on a show for us all when his team took on 1 of 1 Rare. Wilkins, who is a 5-foot-10 guard, scorched them for 31 points on an array of different baskets. To my recollection, this was the highest point total that anyone has scored on 1 of 1 Rare all season long and it came from a guy who just wins everywhere he has been. He took Hendersonville High School to the 2-A state championship game his sophomore year and he led Christ School to a NCISAA championship this past season." - Justin Byerly
