Prospect Watch: Jayden Joseph
2026 Jayden Joseph is quickly becoming one of the best point guards in the state of Florida. The 6-foot-2 prospect will play for Mater Lakes Academy in the fall and runs with Team Breakdown.
As a freshman, Joseph averaged 17.7 points and 4.8 rebounds per game for Chaminade-Madonna in Hollywood. In addition, he scored 20 or more points in ten games. Joseph scored a season-high 30 points against Golden Gate (Naples) and finished with 24 points against 22-8 North Broward Prep. Also an excellent rebounder, he grabbed 10 boards against Barron Collier (23-6) and six or more rebounds in nine games.
As an eight grader, Joseph averaged 11.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.2 steals per game for Mater Academy Charter. Moreover, he hit 18 3-pointers and recorded two or more steals in 17 outings. Joseph's all-around effort helped the Lions to a 14-5 record alongside 2026 Alex Constanza.
Joseph is already a natural floor leader as a sophomore. He has solid size and electric athleticism to create and score off the dribble. More so, Joseph is an elite ball handler with a quick shimmy and twitch into his drive. He is aggressive in the lane and can finish with either hand at the basket. Joseph is very fluid once he's at the rim. In addition, he uses his frame well to absorb contact at the glass. Joseph continues to improve as a three-level scorer, especially out to the perimeter.
Defensively, he brings a ton of energy from baseline to baseline. Joseph is a lockdown on-ball prospect with quick hands. His lateral movement and base provides constant pressure. Given his extra varsity experience, Joseph's court awareness and in-game adjustments on both ends are advanced.
Joseph already holds a pair of offers from Southern Cal and Mississippi State. Expect more to come as he continues to showcase his talent on the circuit. Joseph is as dynamic with the basketball as anyone in his class.
