2023 Spring Preview Top Performers

SUWANEE, Ga—The short, cold days are getting longer and warmer. That means that the basketball calendar is flipping from high school to travel ball.

Before we fully dive into AAU season, there’s no better way to transition than a HoopSeen camp, and our Spring Preview provided a great opportunity for guys to get warmed up before they go off and play with their respective travel teams.

Here are some of the day’s top performers.

Johnson has been a standout at plenty of HoopSeen camps in the past. He’s racking up top performer accolades on this stage, and he did so again on Sunday. He’s so tough at the point guard spot on both ends of the floor. Johnson is a shifty guard who packs a punch on offense. He can be an explosive scorer from all over the floor. Every coach at camp raved about Johnson.

Khayri Dunn

Dunn was undoubtedly one of the best players in the gym on Sunday. He has a physical frame for a guard. Dunn is aggressive on drives and gets to the rim with regularity. He’s a strong, consistent finisher and can hit shots from the perimeter. Dunn used his size and physicality to be a more than impactful rebounder.

Alex Young

Look out for Alex Young this travel season with Norcross Heat. He’s a player we’re looking at to generate plenty of buzz as the days get longer and spring turns into summer. He was one of the best players at the Elite Preview in the fall, and he came to the Spring Preview and showed out again. He rebounds harder than anyone, and he’s a potent scorer from the wing. Young can fill it up in a variety of ways and is a three-level scorer. He’s in a good position to be one of Georgia’s best 2025 stockrisers.

Cameron Stephen

Stephen was one of the guys that turned heads the most on Sunday. He was one of the guys that coaches raved about the most. He’s a well-rounded offensive player that can score from all levels. Stephen is a strong creator off the bounce too. He attacks with a solid handle and some burst. He has deep range on his jumper. Good things happen for guys that play like him because he competes hard on both ends. The ball seems to find him more often than not.

Kamal Green

Green was one of the more intriguing prospects on Sunday. He has a chance to be a really good player as he continues to develop. He’s athletic, and shifty with the ball in his hands. He was able to get by guys and then rise up for athletic finishes at the rim. He was one of the better creators with the ball in his hands. He makes good decision and can hit tough shots. Green is another 2025 that we’ve added to our notes as a player to watch.
