Top of the Class: Sagemont
South Florida, in particular Broward County, is known for being a great area for high school basketball. Programs in the region routinely compete for district titles and state championships in the Sunshine State.
This year, only one team from the area will be competing for a state championship. That program is 2A Sagemont in Weston. The Lions, who are currently 27-4 and winners of eight in a row, will play North Florida Educational Institute on Wednesday in the state semifinals.
