Senior guard Tyler Mallory is racking up points and college interest
There haven’t been many players in the state of Alabama who have been able to get buckets quite like 2023 Greenville (AL) guard Tyler Mallory this season. The senior has lit up the scoreboard since day one of the season when he scored 57 points.
Mallory, a 5-foot-10 combo guard, hasn’t stopped there. Last week he scored 63 points in a win over Montgomery Catholic to break the school’s record for points in a game. He also eclipsed the 1,000-point mark for his senior season alone, making him a 2,000-point scorer for his career.
The rhythm scorer has shown he can score the ball from all three levels with most of his damage coming at the rim and from behind the three-point line. With his senior campaign coming to an end, local college programs are showing high interest right now.
“Marion Military Institute and Calhoun Community College have offered me. I have some other schools showing interest, too.”
Greenville will matchup against Carroll-Ozark on Tuesday in the first round of the 5A Area 4 tournament. The winner will advance to play Charles Henderson for the area championship.
