Spring Story Starter: Jules Jasmin
Every year at the Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions, there are players that come in relative unknowns and leave with our attention and wanting to see more of them. At this year’s Gibbons at the beginning of May, one of those players was Jules Jasmin of Team SAS and Royal Palm Beach High School (FL).
The 2017 wing played very strong in the opening games of the tournament, gaining the attentive eyes of a number of spectators. And then drew a shocking look from a number of evaluators when he did not have much to speak of recruiting wise.
However, that will not last long.
Jasmin is a freak athlete out on the wing, standing about 6-foot-4. He was a terror for defenses all weekend, having one of the highest outputs of the tournament with a 36 point effort. Getting to the rim was Jasmin’s bread and butter as there was not a defender with the right combination of strength and quickness that could keep him out of the paint. And when he got to the rim, it was special. A YouTuber’s dream, Jasmin threw down a number of spectacular dunks and showed elite level athleticism doing so.
His athleticism and ability to score the ball should have him on the radars of Mid Major coaches in the southeast, and he will be a name that will be heard before it is all said and done.
