2025 guard Salim London is poised for another strong travel season
Last travel season we saw plenty of talented players and teams suit up and succeed on the HoopSeen platform. One of the most consistent top performers from event to event was 2025 Hoover (AL) guard Salim London.
London, a versatile 6-foot-4 combo guard, left his mark with the Alabama Fusion in a number of events, including Bama Jam, Best of the South, and Bob Gibbons. Those tournaments were some of our events that are historically loaded with talent, whether it be players or teams.
The sophomore has continued his promising track record during the high school season. In fact, he was one of the most impressive prospects I saw last week at Thompson’s MLK National Showcase. The slick lefty made plays off the bounce and scored at the rim, but one of the strongest aspects of his game is his shooting ability. London made shots consistently in his game against Alexander (GA) on his way to 18 points, five rebounds, and four assists.
“The season is going very well, especially with us having a winning record,” London told HoopSeen.com. “I would say my ball-handling and ability to make tough shots are the best part of my game right now.”
Auburn was on-hand to see the event and thought London was impressive, too. The Tigers extended a scholarship offer following his standout performance.
“I like Coach [Bruce] Pearl and their system. They’re a good team,” he said when asked about the Auburn offer.
The Tigers joined Alabama and Ole Miss as respective scholarship offers for the four-star guard. It makes things interesting early in London’s recruitment, mainly because his father, Tarik, played for Alabama in the late 90s.
As expected, London grew up an Alabama fan. The Crimson Tide offered him last year, so head coach Nate Oats and his staff have a head start in his recruitment. An assistant watched Hoover in action against Tuscaloosa County a few weeks ago.
“I like Alabama’s system a lot. I feel like I would have the most fun and be successful playing in their system out of all the schools who have offered me.”
It’s still a few months before we release our 2025 national rankings, but there’s a pretty good chance London finds his name in our initial rankings. He’ll be the top 2025 prospect in our initial Alabama rankings, too.
Keep an eye on Hoover as the state playoffs start to creep in. They’re widely regarded as one of the top teams in Alabama’s 7A classification.
