Spring Story Starter: Kevin Morris
2016 Dothan (AL) power forward Kevin Morris has cemented himself as one of the top big men in Alabama. However, after a strong spring, he has created some buzz around his name and started his story.
The 6-foot-8 big man was a standout at Bob Gibbons, as he distanced himself from the pack with his rebounding ability and play in the trenches. Despite having a nice stock prior to the April evaluation periods, Morris is starting to feel his recruitment heat up.
“Gonzaga, Oregon State, Utah State, North Florida, TCU, Tulsa, Alabama, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Texas Tech, Penn, and UAB are some of the schools that are recruiting me,” Morris told HoopSeen.com. “I have a lot of new schools every day.”
It’s easy to see why. With a 3.4 GPA and a 24 on the ACT, Morris is a priority for Ivy League schools and other high academic programs. He will be a big man a variety of different schools will take a peek at some time during July.
A great vocal leader on and off the court, Morris’ leadership was evident as he wrote his story at #Gibbons. He not only set the tone for his teammates, but other players that have come through Suwanee Sports Academy. He is currently the No. 3 overall ranked player in Alabama's 2016 class.
Morris lists offers from Middle Tennessee State, Troy, Samford, Cornell, Brown, Yale, and UL-Monroe. That list will grow as he continues to write the next chapter of his beginning story.
