The second month is in the books for the state of Tennessee. Information has been hard to find as some publications/newspapers don't seem to care about high school basketball as much as they do football. Anyway, here are some interesting happenings around the state during the holiday months.
Headlines
Jordan Frison (Memphis Overton) once again is drawing major attention in the Memphis hoops landscape. The rising senior guard, after an elite 32-point effort against Springfield Southeast (MO), is leading the area with a gaudy 30.9 point per game average.
Scoring Exploits
Michael Pepper (CBHS) is one of the best shooters in the West Tennessee landscape bar none. Try this on for size a 31 point effort against powerful Brentwood Academy and another 25 spot against Raymond.
Marlon McShane (Hamilton) is another tough Memphis guard who is moments away from everyone knowing his story. McShane dropped a 33 spot on Freedom Prep over the holidays, mark him down as one to watch.
Jerrod Mackey (Hillcrest) is another small school warrior who is drawing some attention. The junior guard dropped 25 against Waynesville (MO) and added 23 addition against Mitchell.

Players to Watch
Anthony Medlock (Germantown) dropped 27 markers as Germantown knocked Briarcrest Christian from the ranks of the unbeaten with a 60-58 victory at the Tournament of Champions. This win puts the Class AAAA community on notice that the Red Devils are ready to make some noise.
A Name to Know
Corbin Bowling (Fayette Academy) has made himself a common occurrence in this report. The rising sophomore once again provided some scoring fireworks with a 25-point effort against Marshall Academy over the holidays.

Fayette-Ware
The Wildcats are poised to take their normal stance at the season's end with this current run of success. Led by a pair of talented scorers in Damarien Yates (Fayette-Ware and Jairus Terry (Fayette-Ware) do not count them out come tournament time.
