With the turn of the calendar comes a time to reflect on the first two months of the season and reevaluate where teams stand.

For the most part, 5A is playing out as expected at the very top. After the top two, there’s a bit of a jumble of final four contenders which will make for an interesting January before we get to the postseason. As things stand on the second day of 2023, here are the five best in 5A.
