Spring Story Starter: DJ Bryant
During the first April live period, the HoopSeen Atlanta Jam was a great place for the elite non-shoe-company sponsored teams to showcase themselves in front of college coaches. One of those teams was Team Speights, who brought a lot of talent into Suwanee Sports Academy. That talented group was especially deep at the guard positions.
One of those guards was 2016 Sarasota Riverview (FL) point guard DJ Bryant.
Bryant is a pure point guard who had the ball on a string and showed an elite ball handling ability at Atlanta Jam. Along with that great ball handling, Bryant also proved he has fantastic court vision and awareness, distributing the ball very well. He was also a great floor general, not being afraid to show leadership and communication abilities and direct traffic in the halfcourt.
Despite not being an above-the-rim finisher, Bryant used his handle and quickness to get into the lane and show a variety of finishes and the ability to draw contact and get to the free throw line.
Bryant came into Atlanta Jam with interest from a couple of schools. However, he quickly drew a lot of attention from the coaches in attendance, including the Ivy League schools as he is a high academics student as well. Not long after the event, Bryant was offered by Chattanooga.
He gained his way onto a lot of radars and started his story at the HoopSeen Atlanta Jam.
