HoopHall Classic West: Top Performers, part III
SCOTTSDALE, AZ - The annual HoopHall Classic took over The Valley last week and some of the top players and teams came through for a major December. Our team has a lot to run through. Let's start with the next round of the top overall performers.

EVENT STATS: 23 points per game (18-38 FG, 8-17 from 3, 2-6 FT), 3.5 rebounds per game
Smooth. That’s how Jackson plays on the hardwood and in that make-it-look-too-easy approach, he can absolutely torch the most crafty of defenders. His ability to get a bucket in a hurry is quite impressive to watch. From a natural scoring ability, he makes hard work feel easy. A feathery shooter from three, Jackson certainly can make the net move with little effort. Suffice it to say, Jackson should be in the conversation from now until the time he graduates high school as one of the best prep scorers in the nation.
EVENT STATS: 13.5 points per game (11-16 FG, 5-5 FT), 4.5 rebounds per game
Murray-Boyles has been nothing short out of terrific this season for the well-traveled Wasatch crew. Every stop along the way and in nearly every big match-up of the season, the native of South Carolina has been very good and very productive in his team's competitive games. He's incredibly efficient in the low blocks and knows exactly where he's going to help his team. You never see him over-extending what he's capable of. CMB should prove to be a quality addition for the Gamecocks and an important piece to their culture built in Columbia.
EVENT STATS: 14 points (5-11 FG, 1-3 from 3, 3-4 FT), 7 assists, 4 rebounds, 2 steals
The future Cal Bear showed off the versatile skill set that should help him during his time in Berkeley. He's an interesting player now but much more intriguing to think about as a collegiate upperclassman. The long and lean wing sure feels like a guy whose best basketball will be played after he graduates from high school. A big guard with a big ceiling, don't be surprised if he develops into a player better than his high school ranking.
EVENT STATS: 9 points per game (8-10 FG), 4 rebounds per game
Roll with us here for a second...Compton is one of the most effective interior players in the nation. When the junior big man is in the middle and he gets his big mitts on the ball, forget about it. That sucker is going in with some force. Compton will likely finish the NIBC season as the league leader in field goal percentage. His game has some flashes of Brandon Clarke meets DeAndre Ayton.
